Hi,

I am thinking of applying for my Green Card under the EB1-OR category. Here are some detils,

PhD from a top school in Aerospace Engg. 1999
3 journal articles published, 2 accepted
15 conference papers (first author in most of the papers)
National and International student awards
Currently a Professor in a small school

What do you think? Also, I am presently in the Philly area and was wondering if anybody knows of a good EB1 lawyer in this area.

Thanks a ton!

I don\'t see that as enough for EB1 OR. Needs more articles more conferences. And citations. Probabl

my opinion, OR

First, 3 yrs experience, not including your experience form your graduate studies, required;
second, you may try to get a membership, vote into the society, not just paid membership;
third, awards should be specified, including $ attached to the awards;
fourth, very strong recommendation letters.

I would say that You have a Good Chance

IMHO, you have a good chance. I got my EB1(OR) approval in 2000 a year after I finished my PhD. I was working for a very reputed West Coast Research Lab. I had probably around 25 papers, assoc. editor of a journal, awards/citations and very strong recommendation letters.

The key are recommendation letters. Get them from a nice mix of people who know you and "independent unbiased" reviewers of repute.
Ask the recommenders to highlight your achievements with specific examples. Most of them would ask you to write a letter and edit it.

Wish you all the best.

Document each award/research contribution clearly.

Zuzuek\'s comments are WRONG

You have sufficient qualifications for EB1-OR. You just need to present your case well while demonstrating that you
meet the minimum requirements for EB-OR.

You are qualified

I had my EB-1 OR approved from NSC in sept 2001. I got my Ph.D in June 2000. Qualification included 1 journal paper, 8 conference papers and 2 research grants. I have posted details earlier you may want to check it on this site under EB1/NIW issues.

Good Luck.

Cheers
