My RFE is posted on Feb 2nd. Not sure what it is regarding. But I got laid off from my previous company 3 months after filing my I-485. Currently I am working remotely for a company in California from Pittsburgh. I ALSO HAVE NOT INFORMED MY LAWYER REGARDING THE CHANGE IN MY JOB!!.

If my RFE is regarding current job information and if my lawyer gets to know about my change of job.....what actions can she take against me?

Also, can it be a problem for my I485 approval for working remotely for california from Pittsburgh, when I got laid off just after 3 months of filing I485?

Any suggestion is highly apprciated!!!
Thanks.

If you get RFE for employment then submit the documents from current company and that will serve the purpose. No need to inform the VSC either. Your lawyer cannot take any action against you and if she did then hire new lawyer by filing G-28.

Be proactive...

If you could afford, immediately find a new lawyer and file G-28. You are safely covered, if you do this. Don't wait to see, what your ex-company's lawyer does. It might be late.

BTW, Don't worry much about your ex-attorney coming to know, that you quit them. He can't do anything, if you're case is past 180 days.

Just relax, get the employment letter from your current employer and forward it to the VSC, along with any other RFE documents requested. But, it is generally good, if you have a copy of your labor certification, I-140 docs and I-485 receipt notice as filed by your ex-employer.

Hope this helps!

Is your Attorney is representing your company? If so your company might have informed the attorney. If you feel that attorney may not cooperate with you once tell the the truth then before telling her get a copy of RFE. In worst case you can answer your self or hire a new attorney to perform the job of answering RFE.

Thanks guys for the response. The attorney is not from the company but is my personal attorney whose reference I got from a friend of mine.
