Can a I-94 on b2 visa get a state issued ID?

Can anybody tell me if it's possible for a b2 visa holder to get a state issued ID at the DMV? And if so, how long is it valid for?

What are the requirements?

Hi, Yes it is possible to get a state issued I.D. for a person on a B2 visa with an I-94. I got one for my girlfriend who is from Venezuela, about 2 months ago. I went down to the DMV in Arizona and had to fill out some forms, show 2 forms of I.D. for her, and talk to a supervisor who approved the application the next day. You need the passport, I-94 and another form of ID. The I.D which they issued, looked like a drivers license, and was only good until the expiration of her I-95. Hope this helps.

You may log on to www.dmv.org and select your state to obtain information about your state. However, it is now a mandatory requirement that all applicants should have a social security number or a denial letter from the social security office.
