Can a beneficiary close a I-130 case?

After a divorce, can a beneficiary close a I-130 case which was filed by a USC sponsor and still pending processing? If so, how?

Write a letter to your local District office, include copy of the divorce decree and I-130 receipt.

I have since moved to another state (outside of the DO that I originally filled at). Can I still write to close the file. Plus, should I expect a confirmation form the DO that the case is closed (once it is processed)?

Better yet, make an infopass appt and ask to speak with an immigration officer.
