calling NSC

Hello all,
I am in Eb2 with PD July 2004. I am becoming current next month. My receive date at NSC center for 485 application was July 20, 2007. The current processing date in NSC is July 28, 2007 for the past month or so. Is there a way I can call someone at NSC and get some status of my application. I am not even sure if they are processing my case. I checked the (800) 375 – 5283 number and I just get automated message that my case is assigned to the NSC center. Can I call any particular number to talk to someone to get a more recent update on my case. If so, what is the number I call and do I need anything other than my LIn number that they may ask. Gurus, please advise.

Press 1
Press 2
Press 2
Press 6
Press 1
Now enter your receipt number LINxxxxxxxxxx
press 1 (now listen to the case update info..blah blah)
press 3
press 4
(now if you listen a male voice prompting you to hold the call that means the call is going to IOs desk, if it says no IO is available, it will redirect it to NSC, you can cut the phone.. and try the same steps again)
