Calling FBI for Finger Printing Status

I did not know if I should call FBI and find out about my finger printing status for the following reasons:

1. Having to wait for a long time on hold.
2. Talking to someone who would be rude and bark at me, end up ruining my day.
3. Did not know how long they would take to process my case (calling too early or too late)?

I had my finger printing done on the 3rd of Jan from Detroit. I decided that two weeks was a good time to call the FBI at (304) 625 5590. I entered option 4. I called them the first thing in the morning at around 8:30 EST. I told them that I was calling to find the status of my finger printing for Immigration Purposes. He asked me for my A number. He said that they had sent the report to INS the same day I gave the finger printing. I guess they process it the same day. I wish INS was that quick.

Good Luck

Tell me please, how long did it take between EAD received date and the time INS sent you the note to go or finger printing?

Thanks,

I filed for my Adjustment of Status (I485) only on March 30, 2000. I did not file for Travel Document (Advance Payroll) or Work Permit (EAD) with this application. I had my H1B work visa until sometime in May this year. My receipt notice for that from INS was April 30 2000. I received finger printing in December 21, 2000 and they scheduled my finger printing for January 02, 2001. Hope this helps.

After Finger Printing. You wait, you wait longer and you wait some more time. Right now they are processing October 1999 cases. You might get a RFE to verify some documentation. Right now they say the wait time is 450-460 days or something like that. It might improve and we all might get it earlier. Good luck and have pateince. We all see the light at the end of the tunnel now.
