I called USCIS customer service today. I explained her my situation that I had my interview on 01/18 at Baltimore DO and nothing received after that. She opened a service request. She asked me to call back in 45 days if I don't hear anything in 45 days. Gave me a reference # also.

What does it mean???

The problem was the computer found another file ar National service center, they have to request the file and consolidate everything. Three and half months has passed, heard nothing from USCIS.

PD 09/06/06
FP 09/21/06
ID 01/18/07
oath??????

Take infopass every month. That is best way to be informed. You actually talk to a live immgration officer:eek:

USCIS sent me a letter to my service request. The letter states that we are actively processing this case, however, we have to perform additional review on this case and this caused a longer processing time. if you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please call national customer service.

I guess this is the standard format they use for every request.

I am thinking of contacting congressman, my case is out of processing time. At Baltimore now they are processing cases with PD 09/12, mine is 09/06.

We have travel plans for summer.

Do you think you are stuck in name check? I thought people who filed their N-400 after June 2006 will only get interivew after the name check is complete.

I filed back in August last year and is still waiting for the IL.

The IO at the time of interview told me that everything looks fine and they have to consolidate files as they have another file of me lying at National records center. That is the only delay I guess.

Similar thing happened to me during my I-485.Had to wait 9 months and numerous infopass to get that resolved.God I hope I dont have to go thru it during this trip.:(

Travel outside country

We have gone through finger printing and we have our interview scheduled for may 17th. Now I may need to travel outside the country (canada) on business. I remember reading through these portal pages that there is a time period where we are not supposed to go outside the country. Do you guys know when that 'blackout' period is?

Thanks,
Sid

I have never heard something like this!

You can travel with your GC, no restrictions on travel. When officer asks during the interview, say that you travelled and the officer will update your N-400.

Called Congressman's office

Called Congressman's office. One of his staff who takes care of Immigration and Naturalization issues took my A#, receipt #, contact phone # and said she will get back to me in a day or two.

Let's see how this will work out.

It's best to talk to your own personal congressman (whose name you should really find out in preparation for the civics test).

Check out the "find your representative" link on http://www.house.gov/. If your rep is like mine, his staff wants you to fill out and fax a web form to them before they will talk to you.

I spoke to our own congressman to the district we belong to. She didnot ask any form to fill out. Anyway, I will call them tomorrow.
