I called to ask the status , immigration officer asked me to have the attorney call them. Has anyone gotten such response ?
Thanks

I had this answer several times at Vermont previously. Looks like TSC is catching up with the POJ method. Next time tell them that there is no attorney you have filed this pro se.

buckdany,
DOn't they track it ? Also how'd you approach them , do you say you're calling for status enquiry ?

Hi Kathy:

I never faced this situation - may be I got lucky. I would think the Applicant himself / herself would have as much authority to talk as his / her attorney - after all, Attorney is just a representative.

However, no point in trying to rationalize USCIS's actions.

What's your current status? I believe you had done your FP2 after clearance of name check(?) How long ago was that?

I have made several call, but no such response. It all depends the person you deal, but you can keep calling them, and some times you get extremly excellent person, there are few of them, but they are really good. I called last week and the reply was everything cleared, and call them I if I do not here in 60 days.

I think if you call them about the status of I140 then they will not speak with you because the applicant in this case is the employer and not you. But if it's I485 you called about and they blew you off then they just did not feel like talking with you. You don't need to have your attorney call on behalf of your I485. So what were you calling about?
