I wonder what the IIO meant by "normal case like yours". Does that mean abnormal cases get approved immediately? Grr ...

BTW, did you use the (214) 381-1423 number to talk with the IIO?

question

Did the IIO give any info. on what constitutes an abnormal case?
Did she give any indication that TSC might start approving 485 starting next week?

This is really frustrating, one more year.

Abnormal cases means some special cases. She didn't tell what are those special abnormal cases. When I asked about the priority date, she said it has no consideration (i.e priority date is 1998/1999/2000/2001/2002 or whatever), but they strictly go on I-485 Notice date.

Bajis:
I have used the same 214 number.

Also, the reason I have asked about priority date was b/c I got my I-140 approval in May 2000 and had to wait until July 2001 to file I-485 to become the priority date to be current. In July 2001, they made everybody current so that a person waiting since 1999/2000 or who got I-40 approval in June 2001 were eligible to file the same day. If there was no wait, those who got I-140 approval before Nov.2000 could have filed I-485 and got theIr approval by now as per current TSC processing time.
Now, there is no consideration for priority date. Keep changing the rules as they wish. Add new things like TPS blah....

I know there are so many cases like this!.

Anyway let's wait and see.

Called IIO yesterday

I called IIO, TSC yesterday and got the same NOV 2000 cases being processed response....

How long do they need to process Nov 2000 cases? 10 years!

Anyway, there is nothing you can trust about these IIOs. All they know is to play with our lives.

Adjustment of Status - the term actually means that we, foreigners have to go thru BCIS-HELL before you earn your freedom.

If anybody changes job after filling 485, and notifies BCIS about it. They would put highest priority on that case and would process it at lightning speed (approval/rejection). Happenned to a friend of mine, he filed his 485 in Oct 2001, and got approved after an interview in May-Jun 2002.

I too had to wait over a year for my priority date to be current!

RD: Jul 2001
ND: Aug 2001
FP: Mar 2003

Waiting like a slave, for my freedom.

Your frustration is shared by all the folks in this forum. Things you can do
1) Print out the list of signatures, and send it to your congress person/senator with a letter mentioning about the delays. Perhaps if the letter says that you will contribute your time/money to the party it might make a difference. May be then the politicians will listen to us.
2) Talk to your lawyer to see if he/she can help pass our pain to the correct folks in BCIS (upper management)

Your friends case might be one of those random cases which TSC decided to process, I have a few friends who have changed jobs and are still waiting.

frustrated to the extreme

I have been waiting for my I 485 since I applied in Aug 2001. I got my finger printing done in January this year. My wife's FP was done in March. My FP was updated but not my wife's in Casestatus.

Now my employer is saying he can't 'bear' me anymore. Wants me to leave. What do I do now? Can't find a job. My wife just found an excellent job thru her EAD. If I lose my job, hers also becomes obsolete. I don't knwo what to do. Its been so many months/years we have been waiting. My boss says why don't u just leave. Its been more than 180 days. But I todl him I just can't leave like that , I have to haev a job withing a certian period of time if I get laid off until I have my I 485 approved.

This is so unfair, in my opinion, if your I 485 doesn't get approved in 6 months ( which is the time its supposed to take) then all these 'adjustment of status' guys should be 'free' to work anywhere, do anything, instead of being slave to these employers. I can't tell u how much frustrated I am. I am at a loss! There is no fairness, no justice from INS........

Sorry to hear about your problem. With the current economy and job situation it is not very easy to find a new similar job. Hope that you find one soon. With the economy not going anywhere, anytime soon our only hope is to get the damn approval. Please do join the fight, think and execute other ideas that folks in this forum also could use to wake up TSC.

Same BS answer from IIO

I called TSC last week to inquire the status of both my EAD renewal & I485. Needless to say, the so called immigration "information" officer was not offering much info at all. The entire conversation basically can be summarized in 3 words; "keep on waiting!" These IIO have absolutely no idea what they were talking about nor having any motivation in helping. Of course, they are powerless in the arena. Perhaps, the BCIS should have the "S' deleted. Personally, I don't feel like I'm being served.

I485:
RD - Apr 17, 02.
FP - Apr 8, 03. Never did call these people to request for early FP. Online status and AVM stills conatin the same BS statement.

hmcs.

We are really sorry for your situation. I am also one of the unfortunate June 2001 filer in TSC.

Just want to tell you that u'r wife's job will not be obsolete just b'coz u loose your job. If you think in a very long term perspective, it may be true..(only if you couldn't find any other job at all).

I am sure you will be able to find something in a few months. Try to apply in the whole United States.

Hi hmcis

You have no problem, You will get your GC soon. You dont have to worry since 180 days have passed, just find a new job with same or similiar classifications. where are u located, email me we can chat more. muralimano at hotmail

My boss put me thro hell bcos i am more qualified than him.We went through the job change, moved to another state. My spouse had to quit job. But we are doing o.k. now.

damn tsc

On April 18, 2003, AILA released a report on its January 22, 2003 teleconference with the Nebraska Service Center (NSC).

NSC I-485 Timeframes

The NSC was asked about the impact of the I-485 "hold" on I-485 processing within that Service Center. The NSC responded by advising that they are training their officers with an increased level of security checks. They indicated that they are close to completing this training and that they anticipate adjudicating substantial numbers of cases following the training.

I wish that TSC has the courtesy to give some direction to the I-485 dates. They have been silent and not even offered any speculation as to what might happen. We will see if Mr. Khanna’s letter will elicit some response.
