I call the IO (don't know if he is the IO or just a plain customer services)
It only takes me about a minute to get connected.

I asked what is my case status.
FP - cleared
Name check - pending

He said, it will take up to 5 months to get the NC cleared and for another 6 months to get the AOS approved. Nothing further.

Also question about the EAD. I asked if I can get an intrim EAD after 90days and he said NO. I need to wait.

I wish it was so. My understanding is that USCIS has no control over the duration of NC once they pass the ball to FBI. I can take 5 months or 5 years to have it cleared. So unless they changed NC procedures recently (there've been some vague rumors about it), duration of NC is totally unpredictable
 
I took called NSC , but that guy was very rude and told he is prohibited from tell all pending issues.

I have to try again, meantime got email from senator office for my case.
Where to they have 50k pending cases still ....?

This application is still pending at this office. Although the visa bulletin indicated visas were available for most employment categories we have approximately 50,000 I485 applications that need completion. We are processing them as expeditiously as possible but it will take time. This application is in line to be worked. Please allow an additional 45 days for completion.
