Icalled & talk to an officer in NSC & she said she can not find my biometrics that's the reason card has not been issued. I told her I did that July last year. Her reply was wait another month they might be able to find that in their system & soon they do so they'll process my card. IT'S SIMPLY REDICULOUS. I was approved close to two months but my misery is yet not over. I feel sorry for myself.

Don't be. U already a PR. Having plastic on hand doesn't change anything. Just call them every week or make an appointment to escalate the issue.

Atique, get an infopass and get an I-94 that says 'temporary evidence of admission for permanent residence'. Have you done this already?

Well, HI and I am back here again From two weeks trip to Thailand. I would like to thank all the people gave me any info.s about my trip.
Then Mr. Atique: THis is the story at the airport...
After a long flight I got to LAX and after asking some other officers that where is the line for Refugees they told me Line # 16. I had already filled the I-94 card out ready to tald to an IO. . short line and I gave my RTD and I-94 card and I told him I have been approved since Feb. 6th but I have not received my GC yet. I showed him the approval letter and he carefully read the whole thing and he said: your case is still in process, you are still in the same status which is refugee, You have to stay little longer. and after he did a lot of stuff in his computer and asked for my Mom and Dad's name and he said, You sound like you have not been there that much and came here by yourself, and I said yes that is the truth and then he did more stuff with his computer punching my name and info probably and he said ( welcome back home) (with smile) and I asked him what happend to that room (Black room) he said : they have created this line to not sending people to the room, but if your case is hader in depth they may need you overthere and then I thanked him and left the kiosk to get my baggages.

Good part was in the morning today I got a LUD change on my I-485, which gives me some hopes to get something.
I hope your BIO will be found soon and you will get you GC, keep my updated if anything happened.
Good Luck

Welcome back Nasr. How's your wife doing? Well, it's certainly a positive sign that your LUD changed. I haven't seen no change yet. I must keep you updated. Good to have you back brother.

Hi Atique,
Every time I have to digg here in the web-site to find your thread since we are the only one which have the same situation.
Have you done anything regarding your GC? Should we stay quiet for another month? or call and make an appointment for Local office. You said your BIO has been lost? are you going to do it again? That is how USCIS plays the game with us. I wish it was two months.

I am affraid that if I wait another month for them to give me something, they wont do anything till I call them. And after I call, they will give me BS and tehn probably another 3 months over there and they wil decide to change the rules to something else.

Keep me updated man, see what we can do.

Other members's opinion will appreciated.

Regards,

Nasr, I have decided not to do anything before 90 days. Cause I called 3/4 times already & basically the result is more confusing. I always mentioned this in earlier posts that those info officers in USCIS basically not fully aware off our cases. I'm 100% sure all they have access is what you & me can see after log in their website. Only difference I have noticed is them customer service reps are not as rude as past days ( completely personal opinion). They listen to your problem & after that take all the info but result is nothing. So instead of wasting time calling them & come across more confusing news I'd rather wait for that 90 days time as the approval letter clearly says. If nothing happens than I'm going to make an info pass & go to my local office. But if I go now they simply can turn me down saying why are you so impatient. Approval letter clearly says 90 days so if you don't receive nothing in that time period come back & see us.
I was thinking about getting my passport stamped but than again your experience on that issue wasn't so positive.
Therefore best is wait.Cause we are so helpless that no matter how many times you call or write them 100 letters nothing is going to change unless they will do something on their own. And I'm telling that from my personal experiences. Not only I called but wrote them including my BIO receipt that clearly mentions that it was performed on July 9th, 2005. But still nothing happened.
Nasr, it's true that lot other forum members getting their approvals & receiving plastic within a week but mentioning that to USCIS is not going to help us anyway. All they will response is your 90 days time is yet not over. Call back after 90 days. I was approved on Feb 9th so May 9th it would be full 3 months & than I must start do something. I must keep you posted.
Take care buddy.

atique, again, go to your local office with an infopass and get your passport stamped or a new I-94. It's basically your temporary green card. You can travel, apply for reentry permit, etc. Take it easy!

14ksusha, thanks for your response but Nasrmobin had already tried that earlier but failed to get that. I have noticed other members in past who tried that at their local offices were told that it is not instructed in the approval letter so wait 90 days bla.bla.bla...........& refused. I'm really confused at this point.

Atique, I don't know why Nasrmobin didn't get his, but it is a simple procedure. you show them your appoval letter. Bring a picture of yourself, and they will make you a new I-94. It says "Temporary evidence of admission for permanent residence". I just went and got a visa to UK with this document. At the embassy, they considered it a Green Card. Don't be confused, just schedule an infopass and go. I am like you guys, won't see plastic for at least a couple of months, they never did my bio 3. But I am happy with this I-94,

14ksusha, So, which one you are suggesting get the passport stamped or new I-94? I'd prefer stamp on my passport.
I tried that infopass appointment but it kept saying no appointments at this time. What should I do keep trying?
Funny thing is I did my bio code 2 back in July 2005 & now they are saying they don't have it. What bothers me most is then why am I waiting? Send me another appointment that way I can go ahead & get that done.

I think you were lucky that they stamped your passport, It may be rule but they dont know about it. I did the Info pass and was not succesful and even in port of entry the IO clearly said your GC is still in process then he said they do not consider me as a GC holder and he stamped my i-94 with Addmited as a Refugee:-l .

I dont have nothing to do with the situation which I am not able to do anything till end of 90 days.

IT's very very strange Nasr, it is their official rule. After thirty days from the day of the approval, you can either get a new I-94 or, if you have a passport, have your passport stamped. Where are you located? I don't think I was lucky, it's just what they do. Your application has been approved, you are not in a refugee/asylee status anymore.

It doesn't really matter. I don't have a passport, so I had an I-94 stamped. The IO told me they could not stamp RTD, although I have noticed some people on this forum had their RTD stamped. In Baltimore, you can get an infopass two days ahead, plenty of time slots. I had mine scheduled at 8:00 am. I came in, they had my name on the list, there were three other people and about ten officers, bored to death. I actually was very pleased with the whole procedure and set-up.

I'm glad to hear your pleasant experience but for me I'd have to go Dallas local office & that's always busy. Well, I have a passport so I'll keep trying till I get an appointment from info pass to get that stamped.
You know 14ksusha, the problem with USCIS is them IO's are not fully aware off the whole process therefore you'll hear one applicant asked for something & received that without any question asked on the other hand other's simply get refused. Now you cannot even argue with them cause who knows what that could do to your case. So our best bet with USCIS is instead of looking for the laws better pray you face a nice IO who'll listen to you & be more sympathetic with us immigrants & over all treat us more human than some case files or numeric numbers.
By the way what did you do about your bio?

Atique,

You were approved over 60 days ago, you best bet is to contact your congressman. I know you'd re write some one's horror story however it's worth contacting your congressional office.

For many people, it did the trick and I know it will work for you as well. If you need help writing that letter PM me.

Adios

huchub, Thanks for your response but I have already contacted my senator back in March & his office replied back saying they made an inquiry about my case on my behalf & now waiting to hear from USCIS to respond. Soon USCIS will notify senator's office they will inform me what's causing this delay.
I also called USCIS several times but funny thing that I was told they don't find my biometrics on file. But I completed that back in July,2005.
I also told them since they don't find that than send me another bio appointment & customer service rep said they will forward that message to the supervisor. It's really frustrating.
I finally made an infopass appointment at my local office on 27th & try to get my passport stamed. Who knows what's in my fate on that day.

I agree. It's very confusing and frustrating. Like in my case, I know all I need is to have my digital photo taken.. It says in my file, a USCIS rep was reading it off the computer. She said: 'The card is not in production yet, because an I-89 needs to be filled out and it's basically your photo.' She said to wait for your appointment letter. I will wait till 60 days pass and then bug the hell out of them. I think we should start a new thread: Approved but no Plastic!
