I called Immigration office today @ 1-800 375 5283 to find out my receipt number for I-485 which was received to the USCIS NSC center on Jul 23, 2007.
The immigration officer told me that I wait for at least three months and if still receipt is not arrived then call back. Then they may be able to do further processing if we provide them first and last name.
It means that receipt number may not be available up to three months for lots of folks.
