Well first of all Belan Jutti wouldnt work with this IIO. Anyway here is the experience
Called and got through after 20 redials kept on hold for 20 minutes or so. Finally somebody picked up. When I say somebody I really mean somebody because if this was an IIO God save BCIS and us.. Here is the gist. The person( lady) who lifted the phone was a Spanish speaking person with barely understandable English
Me : Good morning I am calling to enquire about my pending I485 case..
IIO ( IF IT WAS) ok then silence
Me : I assume you need my WAC number
IIO : Yes
Me : Wac 02 066xxxx
IIO : ok then silence and a lot of typing etc on the computer
IIO : When file it ( or something like that)
Me : Dec 2001
Again silence
IIO : We are doing Nov
Me : Yes but its been that way for more than 6 months
IIO : Yes
Me : So when will you do December( no Pun intended!)
IIO : Don't know but soon
Me : Are more officers assigned?
IIO : dont know
Me : So what do i do?
IIO : Wait for 3(something)
Me: 3 what? weeks or months
IIO : Yes
Me : Months?
IIO : Yes
Me 3 Months?
IIO : Maybe
Me : Why so long?
IIO : Ok thanks
By this time I couldn't take it anymore .Im not sure if this was an IIO or a janitor ( no offence) passing by who lifted the phone.

Angry and Frustrated I called the National Service Center ( 1-800) number
What is your WAC number?
Me WAC 02 XXXX
You filed it in Dec 2001?
Me Yes
It should have been adjugated in 8 months
Me : I wish, its been 18 months
Took down my A# Verified my address and said " We will consititute an enquiry why its taking so long" You will hear from then in a maximum of 3 weeks ..if not call me back. You shouldnt have to wait so long for a adjugation.

Sure I have already initiated it ,they have to act on our enquiry

Phew ! Guys my suggestion call the NSC and state your case if they really initiate something it may be worth it.
