Well first of all Belan Jutti wouldnt work with this IIO. Anyway here is the experience

Called and got through after 20 redials kept on hold for 20 minutes or so. Finally somebody picked up. When I say somebody I really mean somebody because if this was an IIO God save BCIS and us.. Here is the gist. The person( lady) who lifted the phone was a Spanish speaking person with barely understandable English

Me : Good morning I am calling to enquire about my pending I485 case..
IIO ( IF IT WAS) ok then silence

Me : I assume you need my WAC number
IIO : Yes

Me : Wac 02 066xxxx
IIO : ok then silence and a lot of typing etc on the computer

IIO : When file it ( or something like that)
Me : Dec 2001

Again silence
IIO : We are doing Nov
Me : Yes but its been that way for more than 6 months

IIO : Yes

Me : So when will you do December( no Pun intended!)
IIO : Don't know but soon

Me : Are more officers assigned?
IIO : dont know

Me : So what do i do?
IIO : Wait for 3(something)
Me: 3 what? weeks or months
IIO : Yes
Me : Months?
IIO : Yes
Me 3 Months?
IIO : Maybe
Me : Why so long?
IIO : Ok thanks

By this time I couldn't take it anymore .Im not sure if this was an IIO or a janitor ( no offence) passing by who lifted the phone.

IIO : k Bye

Angry and Frustrated I called the National Service Center ( 1-800) number

What is your WAC number?
Me WAC 02 XXXX

You filed it in Dec 2001?
Me Yes

It should have been adjugated in 8 months
Me : I wish, its been 18 months

Took down my A# Verified my address and said " We will consititute an enquiry why its taking so long" You will hear from then in a maximum of 3 weeks ..if not call me back. You shouldnt have to wait so long for a adjugation.
Me Thank you for your kind words

Any thing else?
Me : No do this I will be grateful

Sure I have already initiated it ,they have to act on our enquiry
Me Thank you and Bye
Bye.

Phew ! Guys my suggestion call the NSC and state your case if they really initiate something it may be worth it.

Calling IIO is a waste of time and Energy
 
I think they are going to flood the system with inquiries.

Vipsha, PCee, SillyMan others who have been waiting for EVER, please CALL ASAP! You guys deserve to be at the head of the inquiry line. I am sure while that line might work the first few times, it will stop soon! So it is better that the people waiting in queue longest get this started ASAP.

Others please hold off on calling for a day or two and let the people will the oldest RD's get in line before them.

If 8 months is the barrier for adjucation, then I think over 95% of this forum should be approved already!
 
Here we go again!!!

Are the service centers going to issue receipt numbers (EAC#, LIN#, SRC# and WAC#'s) for these inquiries... and will the NSC have to follow up status on those inquiries using the same BCIS Case Status online website?????????

Soumy can you please tell me what number to call to get to the BCIS national customer service line? I tried searching the portal but the 1-800 number that comes up no longer seems to be in service.
 
Just called 1-800 no. But no use. She just read whatever is there on the website and she said she doesn't have any other info.

1-800-375-5283 . But as I140 suggested maybe we should give PCee and guys like that a head start on the inquiries.Because the moment we flood it there won't be any use.. Or if you can wait I will let u know if there is any feedback in 3 weeks as they suggested
 
Hi Soumy,
It's good that you have called NSC and posted experience. But don't count on enquiry from NSC. I had this done couple of times for EAD and AP. I was told to expect written response from CSC. Nothing happened.
Let's hope things have changed now.

Nonsense reply from NCSS

I called the National Customer Service Center sometime ago.

The lady asked me my zipcode and based on zipcode, She advised me to wait for 24 months. As per her story, she has received such instructions from BCIS.

I informed her that my application was mailed on Oct'2001 and has gone past JIT date.

She had not heard of JIT report.....(smoking Pot)

I don't think she would clear the TOEFL exam...

She advised me go to local INS office and discuss with them. OR drive to Laguna Niguel .......(bunch of crap...)

Too frustrating to talk with these nonsense CSR....

Not much faith in NSC.

I called today saying that I had I-485 pending for 15 months:

IIO: Pending 15 months. Did you submit at local office?
ME: No at California Service Center in Laguna Niguel
IIO: OK.. California....let me see..It will take 16 months
ME: 16 months from now, or the date when it was filed?
IIO: No, no, from filing
ME: Thank you

No mention of wanting to know WAC # etc. by IIO.
I'm going to try again in a couple of days, though.

Thanks for giving out the correct number, the one I had was off one digit was 1-800-375-5238 instead of 1-800-375-5283.
 
My wac number is 02-093-55xxx. Is it the correct time for me to call the NSC or I need to wait for some more time. I never called anyone for my status.

Well, I called NSC last week. Told that I'd applied last year in March. Without listening the whole part, she told me to wait for year and a half. I was surprised!!! I again repeated that I had applied in March 2002 and then she told me to wait for 6-months :)

Go figure!!!!

You should have asked another time, it would have come down to 3 months. .. SO THATS THE TRICK !!
