Hi All,

Spoke with IIO today, I was inquiring about my status RD 12/12/01, ND 12/19/01. Came with same answer currently they are processing 11/15/01. I told her I am concerned about my finger print expiration dates, and asked her if I need to redo them, she looked at my finger print dates (01/27/02) and told me normally they are aware of finger print expiration and try to keep that in mind during processing, as per her I should not be concerned about finger printing, even if finger printing expires before you get approved, if there isn't a lot of difference between days I should be fine. I am not sure if its a positive sign, was she trying to hint within couple of days they might be processing my 485, or now that they are aware my finger prints are expiring they might process it.
As per her normally INS avoids redoing of finger prints(found this very informative).

Just keeping my finger crossed and hope they process it soon.

Just wanted to share with all of you

very informative

I guess you are just a week or so from approval. Thanks for that important news. I wish they could avoid the redoing of FPs that could cause another couple of month delay.

I tend to agree with the notion that they are trying to avoid 2nd FP.
It will only cost them more money to get the FP checked and verified by the FBI. Not to mention the extra work for folks in the App Support Center.

how long is the FP valid?

This is my first time to hear that FP has an expiration date. Can some one tell me how long that is? Thanks!

It is not that your FP expires after a certain date - it is the results of the FP check/review that expire after 15 months.

GC012002 : well if only the FP RESULTS have to be

re-verified, then why does INS want the FP's done again ?

As far as I know FPs "NEVER Expire" I mean thats the whole point of doing a FP .. So the only reason can be that they
"DONT/CANNOT" Save our FP's in a Database and hence we have to go through this BS again.
