I've been called for GC Interview next thursday. My problem is: I've mentioned the option "NO" in the I-485 application where it asks about a person's arrest/convicted history. In 1999 I've been once arrested for Domestic disturbance case, but, the charges have been dropped. As one of my friends suggested me to go ahead with NO option, i went ahead. NOw, my case has been transferred to local office and they called me for interview. Can anybody suggest me what am I supposed to say in the interview? Please help..time is very less!
Thanks in advance

You might want to take all documents related to that arrest with you to the interview. You need to show that that account was dropped!! You also need to show that incident had nothing to do with "terrorists"...

GC Approved

Guys!
Thanks for your support. I have got approved my Green Card yesterday. Everything was pretty smooth. I was so damn afraid after going through this forum replies. First of all, my sincere suggestion is: Never ever post anything without your personal experience(somebody says their experience and it will be blown out of proportion and will be posted on the web) Finally, guys like me before the interview, will unnecessarily get tense filled and will not be able to face the interview properly. So, please keep in mind before posting irresponsible mails. I hope, this helps out the other guys.
Now, regarding my interview. There was nothing asked either, nor did they started asking me reasons as to why, when I said for the charges question. He was very co-operative and he did send some time sharing jokes with my kid and thru the interview he was very courteous too. So, final conclusion is: I confessed him everything and showed the relevant documents and he did file them, but, finally, he approved my Green Card. That's all I have to say! Do not believe in stupid replies again!

Hi,

I had the exactly same situation like yours. I was arrested because of conflict with my neighbor. The case was dropped, no charge on me. But I filled "NO" in I485. INS made mistake on my I485 and intentionally denial because they didn't find my approved I140, after 8 months MOTION to RE-OPEN, they found my fingerprint has arrest record. My case along with my wife's has been transfer to INS chicago office last July, they wanted to interview us. But for some unknown reason, our cases have been transferred back to Nebraska center on January this year. My RD is 03/01. I have been waiting for two and half years already. My lawyer told me my case could be transferred to Chicago again, because they stilll wants to interview me. But I didn't receive any transfer letter, I don't even know where is my case now. Could you please share some of your experience with me. I am very frustrated about this messed up.
