I called the 1800 number today about the address change. The lady said it's no problem for then to change the address when I call after I move, and I don't need to send a hard copy application to INS.
When I asked about my I485 status, what she could told me is what I can get from INS web site. Also she said for CSC it's about 20mo processing time. She doesn' t have access to perticular file, but she sent a inquiry message to CSC and I was told I could get reply from CSC within 3 weeks about my current status.

It only took me ~2min to get through. ----Guess not many people wanted to call now.

Anyway, just share the info with you.

for your own good, send the AR-11 address change after your move. Doesn't matter what she said - if someone asks you why you didn't file AR-11, your defense will be...what?

she also told me I would get a reply in about 3 weeks - that was about 3 months ago - still waiting

I don't think AR-11 hooked with BCIS tightly. U MUST send AR-11 to DC to avoid being deported, and U ALSO MUST TELL BCIS new address to avoid losing their mails.

its on ur online status

the change of address for pending applications & AR-11 are two different things...chg of addr at 1800# is only for applications I think...like others mentioned already - send in AR-11

called customer service

1) moved to a new place.
2) sent AR-11 form with nre address
3) called 800 number today to conform if my address is changed.

They said, sending AR-11 form is actually not changing your address in a service center.

Sending AR-11 form is just completing legal dicument to let them know you changed address.

To change address in a service center you have to call 800 number.

So, sending AR-11 OR calling them not enough. You have to do both.

*** My lawer didn't tell me that ****

it's true

called 1800 number.. and she said that they dont know anything about status on cases.. and that i needed to do both.. send AR 11 and change the address with her..

I send a AR11 letter that for me and my spouse.
And also called them and inform them about address changed.
Now would they do for my spouse also. Or I have to called them separately for her???

You and your spouse have different alien numbers so you have to tell them specifically to do it for your spouse too.

By the way, you can not change it for your spouse unless he/she authorize you on his/her account. So have him/her around when you call or ask him/her to call.

did you recieve a reciept ?

Did you get a reciept from BCIS after they recieved your AR-11 form to confirm change of address ? Rep @800 number told me so.

I didn't recieve anything yet.

AR-11 receipt

It's been a month and I haven't recd a receipt. I don't expect
a receipt.
This is the first time I've heard that BCIS sends a receipt for AR-11.

I sent in the forms by USPS priority mail with a tracking number.
USPS mailed me when the letter was delivered.

I called the IIO to confirm the address change, but she said
that all she could do was change the addresses for the
different applications. She could not actually verify that
the address change happened.

Re:

Yes. Thats what she told me too. She cannot verify it for me.
Knowing them I am not expecting a reciept.
