Called service center this morning . It seems they know nothing. I was told I-485 cases (employment-based) take 22 months now , also told to call 402-323-7830 if I wanted specific info. for my case. Anybody knows if the phone at NSC still works ?
I called yesterday at 402-323-7830 and it seems the IIO is still replying those calls. I thought yesterday was the first day for 1-800 number but I said let me try Nebraska number and it worked. Anyway the IIO I talked was pretty rude. I was asking about my EAD and AP applications which are lying there 4 days shy to 6 months. She told me INS has my application but won't tell me whether it has been assigned to an officer.
I think I got unlucky about my EAD and AP. My I-140 got approved in 2 months without any problem. After my lawyer sent an inquiry about my EAD and AP, INS issued an RFE for both these applications after 5 months. They asked me for color photocopy of my passport or driver's license and photos again. I replied my RFE two weeks back and still waiting.
From other people's feedback, it seems that EAD and AP takes around 5-6 months now a days. Frustrating enouh but I guess we have to live with it.
