Here is my situation, I worked in company A from 2002 to 2005, they applied for my GC, 485 still pending, this is a small company having around 40-50 employees, i was working as IT manager, i aslo worked as Financial controller temporarily, in 2005 i left this company with an aggrement that they will continue my GC process. Joined company B in 2005 on H1b, in May, 2007 my priority date becamee current for my GC process from company A and I applied for 485.
After about 5 months of applying 485 i got a call from Local immigration officer he was very casual and asked me if I can meet him, then he said just come to my office tomorrow morning. I was very shocked, no letter nothing just a phone call what type of interview is this, me and my wife went to local immigration office, called his office from my cell phone from out side the building because we had no appointment letter to enter the building, he came out and escorted us to his office, he started asking me the questions like what were you doing in the previous job, who owns that business etc
few questions which concerned me were
IO- you were reported working as Financial Controller, why is that ?
Me-It was temporary while other accountant was getting trained on the new accouting system.
IO - why did you make deposits in company accounts?
Me- it was during the same period when i was filling accouting position, it was one of the duties of the controller.
IO - Do you know what hundi is?
Me- Yes I know, but never used it.
IO- After the approval are you planning to go back to company A, because if you dont want to you dont have to.
Me - Yes i am planning to go back, thats the agreement with them and plus i like that job.
then he just asked general questions about the company, interview lasted for about an hr and at the end he told us, I got all the information I needed you will hear very shorltly about the decision, but its been more than a year since that interview and i have not heared any thing.
so you guys think am I in trouble ?
