Call FBI for name check

Guys,
I am losing my patience here. My name check has been stuck for 15 months and there are no signs of it being approved soon. I have tried all the venues, mail to Senators, mail to Cannon and Hardy, email to fbi and have my attorney inquiry the INS. But all seems fruitless. I am about to call FBI to check my name check status. Just wondering if anybody has done that and what's the effect.
Thanks a lot!

I called FBI couple of times and was put on hold every time.
I waited up to 30 minutes and gave up on it and decided
to e-mail. If I were in your situation, I would prepare enough
time and make sure you get a chance to talk with someone
in FBI...

If you call the FBI/NNCP number, you will hear a recording that says they only honor requests sent by email.

Even if you get to speak to someone, they tell the same thing -- they only want to communicate via email (and they take approx 6 MONTHS to send a reply)

Unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done to expedite name checks -- even Senator can't help you in this -- just wait and hope they do it.
Sad, but true.

dzhao1,
I am sharing the frustration with you. My lastname happens to be very common. It must have had many hits in FBI database and I guess it needs to go through a number of “manual-check” units of FBI to get cleared. First email inquiry was sent more than six months ago. No any response yet. Currently in the process of contacting local congressman for help.
