I moved to bay area in september 2004 and living in bay area since then. I am planning on filing N-400 on july 1st (90 days before the eligible date).

But I delayed getting my driving license and just got the california driver license today. Is it ok to move ahead with my N-400? Or do I need to wait for 3 more months before filing N-400? I did register my car earlier in March.

Does immigration officer ask for driving license during interview to find out how long one has been living in the state? Or will providing other documents such as leasing agreement suffice?

Adjudication officer most definately would ask you for a driving license or State Issued ID just to verify whether you are a resident of the State or not, and not to find out how long you have been residing in the State. They ask for it to determine their jurisdiction on you.

I've never heard of adjudication officers having asked to any applicant about how long applicants have been residing in the State unless applicants tell voluntarily or applicants might have mentioned about it on the application by themselves; otherwise just by seening the driving license-they get satisfied that applicants have been living in the State for long enough regardless the date of issuing the driving license.

Nevertheless, it is advisable to take with you anything to prove that you have been residing in the State for at least 3 months, like utility bills, bank statements, employment records like W-2s, other bills, letters or magizes subscription mailed to you at your current address, rent lease or morgage record, etc. That said, you don't need to wait anymore in filing N-400 if you are eligible to file it now.
