C-11 Royal Assent ????

Hi Everyone,

I just spoke to my lawyer and he says that C-11 might take another 3-4 months to be passed finally by Royal Assent cuz it needs lot of Regulations in place.

What do u think ? Any ideas appreciated !!

the bill is passed , it has got the RA but the CIC needs

another 3-4 months to get the regulations in place..latest by june02.
in the mean time if you have applications pending, it could be
judged by the old law ( or maybe by the new law too ) ...so
until the regs are in place, it is anyone\'s guess.

one thing for sure, the bill is the law now, so there is no going
back on it.

tt tt what do you mean application judged by new law? Does it mean only 2 years out of 5 years rule for PR will apply to only those judged by new law?
 
Does Bill C-11 apply to people who got their Canadian PR last year?

I landed in Feburary 2000. I then came back to US to work after staying in Toronto for several days.

My Question is: under the new law, can i go back to canada as a PR?
