All -
What all are the requirements in setting up a business (like the investment amount, type of business etc)to be eligible for a business visa?

Thanks

Reigns,

Could you please elaborate a little more?

Case 1 - I guess you want to know how big your business should be in terms of number of employees and revenues, to get someone on a B1 visa? Is that right?

Or case 2 - maybe that you are a rich businessman outside US and want to see what do you need to enter US on a business visa? Is that the case?

If it is case 1, my understanding is that, what really matters is whether you can establish a firm case to bring someone on a business visa, and if that person(s) presents themselves at the US Consulate in their country, whether they will be able to establish well that it is really a business related trip and their intentions are to get back to their country as soon as the business work is done.

I am not a lawyer, but from whatever info I gathered on this subject, legally it is straightforward, you have a business and as part of that business you decide that someone from outside US should visit you, maybe, to present a seminar, to provide a short-term consultancy in person, or see you facility to go and start a franchise in his country, or just to understand technical know-how as part of a technolgy transfer agreement between your company and the foreign company. So all the hassles come only from the administrative angle only. So as long as you can establish that this person or persons are from an acceptable country, on a business that does not jeopardize US nataional interest in any way, and thier stay is for a short duration and they will not be a burden to the state, I guess things are fine.

Again these are just individual views based on individual experiences. Please consult a lawyer to present your full case and get the right advise.
