Bringing Wife during OPT

Hi,

I am presently on my OPT stature. I am getting married in coming december and intend to bring my spouse along. I know that one can bring his / her spuse during OPT, but my main concern is that since I will be over with almost half of my OPT when I file for her visa, there might be an objection to her visa. So just wondering is there a way out that can further strengthen her chances of securing a dependent visa.

I am in a similar situation and i do not have a job. What happened in your case, did you have a job? Hope everything went well for you.

Intent

Our International advisor told us to refrain from travel when on OPT. Since the intent when you are on F1 student visa is studies. However when on vocational training you really dont have a strong intent and you may be denied entry. I know one of my friends went to india on OPT on Company business but I would personally not take that risk. If I were you I would have either gone when I was on F1 or better still wait till I had an H1.
