Hi,
Can anyone tell me what are the documents required for getting visitors visa. How long it is valid? Is it valid from the date they stamp or the date they arrive here.
On what basis they issue the visas.

Anyone brought their parents or in-laws near past.

Please advise.

Thanks

Along with passport, application form and visa fees the following documents need to be included for issuance of a visitor visa.

Employment verification letter from employer, last two pay stubs and W-2 earning summary from previous year
Letter from Bank and the last two bank statements
Letter from self to consulate supporting issuance of the visa
Documents verifying proof of residency
- valid H1 visa or EAD
- copy of all pages in passport
Proof of strong ties of applicant to India (property papers, bank balance etc..)
In case of in-laws include the following
Copy of all pages of spouse passport
Marriage certificate
Any other document that establishes mother/father - daughter relationship (Birth Certificate, Marriage invitation etc.)

Also add some other documents that may be used to verify the information in the affidavit of support
