Bringing Fiance Here

Have a question..

My Fiance is in India. We are planning to get married in January. What would be the best way to bring her here soon. I heard that the fiance visa and the spouse visa takes almost 6-7 months.

I would not be able to take long leave and hence would like to be with her after marriage... Is F1 an option?

Any suggestions? Please advice

F1 is not an option for you. You will be married before start of Spring semester classes and F1 visa requires one to show non-immgrant intent, which she can't because she will be married to a US citizen (?) or a green card holder (You haven not stated your own status!).

don't marry yet and have her to obtan a F1 visa and come in and wait together with you for your citizenship,(she need to be in school though before you can sponsor her status adjustment) as soon as you obtain your citizenship and then you can get married and change her status. This is the way that my BF and I choose.

Getting married too soon after obtaining the F1 will jeopardize her ability to get a green card because it may be seen as misrepresenting her intent at the port of entry.

Bottom line -- if you want things to go smoothly with her green card, accept that it involves some months of separation and don't try to circumvent the regulations.
