bringing family member to visit, possible?

Hello,
Is it possible to bring my mother to visit for 1 month? I am a graduate student and for her just going to the consulate and asking for a visitor visa is not a possibility, because there're so many who want to get out of my native country that they almost don't give visitor visas any more.

Anyone has brought their family members over to visit?
Thanks in advance

Yes, she is eligible to apply for a tourist visa, but it is up to the consular official to grant or deny her the visa.

Thanks for your reply,

So there is no specific application, sort of "int'l student applying to invite his parent to visit" form that I can file for her? Because as I said, if she just goes to the consulate and asks for the tourist visa, she's guaranteed to be denied.

Thank you so much

There is no such form. She needs to use the non-immigrant visa application. And most likely she will be denied a visa.
