Hello,
I have a question. I have read some posts about bring IRS Tax Returns to the Citizenship Interview.

Should I also bring state tax returns to the interview? My greencard is employment based, not marriage based.

Thanks in advance,
Benson :)

It doesn't matter whether you obtained your green card based upon marriage or Employment, you should ALWAYS bring your ALL tax-returns (Federal, state and city tax-returns) to your Naturalization interview.

The prime reason for INS to see your tax-returns is to make sure whether or not you are complying with laws and rules of United States. If you were required to file tax return, then it doesn't separate federal tax-returns to state/city tax-returns in the context of finding whether or not any law/rule of United States was properly followed.

However, mostly adjudication officers don't specifically ask for State tax-returns because they automatically assume that applicant must have filed State/city tax-returns if applicant shows them federal tax-returns. But it is a good idea to carry ALL the tax-returns.

Of course! You must take your last 3 years (or five years if possible) Tax Returns including State Tax Returns. My GC was also not on marraige base but Officer checked my 3 years Returns and made copies for my file. You should take as many docs as possible with you. Bank statements, Pay stubs, Birth certificate, etc. You never know what they ask you to show. So be prepared.
