Hi,
When I started the process towards getting a GC with my company, I had to sign a contract stating that if I left the job during the GC processing, I would have to pay the amount of money that had been spent on the processing upto that point.
Now my company A has been bought over by company B.
Does this contract carry over to company B or is it null & void?
Also, the contract didn't state a time period which would be considered as a reasonable estimate of the GC process. Now more than 2 years later, I still haven't even cleared the labor phase. And the end is nowhere in sight.
I realise I made the choice to I sign this document but for how long can I be bound for the contract?
Any answers will be greatly appreciated.
PS: Company A was based in Calif. Company B is HQ'd in Mass. However, I continue to reside and work in Calif (in case it matters which state I am in).
