Both me and spouse received RFE emails today

ptgc
Me and my husband got RFEs after 2 FPs. One was medical exams (immunization form I-693) and Proof of legal status which was proven with I-94s and copies of pages of passport stamps.
I think I-485 RFEs are very simple to respond (personal stuff) that you have at hand and are able to send quickly.
Good Luck!

Thank you very much for your information. My attorney said the RFE letter won't be received for a week. We will see what it will be. Since both my spouse and me, not myself (primary applicant) only, were sent the RFE, I guess the requested document must be related to common things like what you mentioned in your post. So I am not too worried about it now. Thanks again.

I received the RFE notices from my attorney for my wife and myself.

For myself (primary), it requires my current employment letter and legal status evidence since I entered the U.S. till the filing of my I-485.

For my wife (derivative), it requires her legal status evidence since she entered this country till the filing of her I-485 and marriage certificate.

One question for gurus here:
Should I provide the original copy or just photocopy of my employment letter and our marriage certificate? For legal status evidence, the photocopies would be fine, which were stated explicitly on the RFE notices.

I also asked my attorney for this question and waiting for the reply.

Thanks.

Never send originals

ptgc,

From what I know you are not expected to send originals of Marriage and Birth Certificates. The letter from your employer should be the original one. That can be replaced so sending out an original will not hurt.

Please verify everything with your lawyer.

saras

You only need photo copies. I submitted original but was returned by CIS.

Did they ask for pay stub or tax return? Or just the employment letter?

Thank you saras.
