both husband and wife filing I-485

The company I am working for now is filing for my I-485 concurrent where I have included my wife and son as beneficiary.

My wife's company is also going to file I-485 for her including myself and my son as beneficiary.

Is it ok to apply I-485 twice one as a beneficiary (that is with the spouse) and one as a primary
 
Why do you need 2 I-485s? Use the case with earlier priority date or a higher employment category (at your discretion).
 
thanks for the reply. Is't there any benefit when both of us apply?. Like say the spouse getting the benefit to work after 6 months etc.
