My case was transferred to Boston INS because of an arrest record I had when I was a young wild one. I was arrested for DUI by our campus police on the only night when I was stone sober. They had to drop charges (nolle) as the breathelyzer showed 0. I said yes to the question of arrest or conviction in my 485 application (lawyer\'s advice).
We get to Boston INS at 1 PM. I was assigned to an officer named "Joe xxxx" (forget the last name), who is notorious for his manhadling of applicants. Apparently, he was put on a leave of absence for *TWO* years recently due to overwhelming number of complaints. He doesnt make any eye contact. He asks routine questions such as:
1. Is your address xxxxx ?
2. Did you work before you got work authorization ? (to my wife)
etc.
He made sure that I hadnt had any other problems with the law apart from the bogus arrest. All of this took 3 minutes. After which, he says, "wait outside and I will bring you your stamped passports". After a 20 minute wait, we got our passports with the stamp. yoohoo.
