I wanted to share my passport stamping experience in Boston.

I showed up at the JFK buildin at 6.00am in the morning. They placed a notice at the door that they accept only appointment applicants thr that door, everybody else should procede to door cross from city hall plaza. When I got to the correct door there were 11 peaople in front of me. The documents that I brought with me were:

I-485 approval Notice,
Passport
I-94 form
2 Immigration style pictures
EAD Card( It does not say it in the approval notice to bring)
AP notices ( It does not say in the approval notice to bring)

At 7.00am, went thr the security and got a number. As they gave me the ticket they directed back to lobby to get my finger print done. At 7.10am I returned back to main lobby and waited for my number. 7.20am my number was called. I handed all the above documents to office. She was very polite. She printed the name and A number the paper work and stamped the passport with temporary residency stamp. Then said it would take 6 month to a year to get the actual GC.
I was out by 7.25am.
I thought I was I was going to be out for the morning> It turn out I was at work before anybody.

Good luck to all.

Same experience here; (Yesil was probably the one in front of me :-)

I had the 485 approval notice courtesy copy; Stamped by a different officer; I gave the passport, I-94 and 2 photos; he took all the APs and EADs; 3 minutes at the counter; out by 7.30am.
Waiting for my wife to come back from abroad on AP and get her stamping in Sep.

Hi folks,

We got our 485 approval notice yesterday and are thinking of going to Boston for stamping this week - was wondering if you had any issues because of the convention. Did you go by car? Or would you recommend public transportation? Any tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dharma.

IT is a very smoot process, if you have all the document ready. I would suggest you take the public transportation. Driving is going to be a pain, since there is almost no street parking allowed in the downtown area. Perhaps you can park at one of the train stations and ride T to Government center. No tricks. Be there early.

Good luck.

As a matter of fact -- there is a public parking right near the Government Center (you will see the blue P sign). Park there. It will cost you about $16 for two - three hours. It is much easier to park there I would say then look for a available meter parking.

Also, take the Government Center exit from the tunnel, and follow the Government Center signs. It is pretty straight forward. We went there around 10 AM, and we were out by 12:20 PM. Driving was convinient because went straight to work after that (we live in the Western MA, so taking commuter train is too much hassle).

Good luck.

Hi Dharma,

If you live in NH, Manchester, NH may be a better option for you. Its a cool place to get things done fast. I had couple of visits to this center and the officers are very friendly.

Can you provide your RD/ND/AD?

Hi,

My RD is Feb 11, 2003 (according to the 485 receipt notice) or Mar 5, 2003(according to the approval notice)! ND is April 30, 2003, FP done May 2003 and AD is July 19, 2003. (I've posted this and other relevant info at http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=136205)

We did our fingerprinting in Manchester, NH (that's where our notice told us to go), but this approval letter asks us to go to Boston.
