I am not sure if this is still "news", but here is what I got from my lawyer.

===============

Please be advised that as of today, due to newly implemented national procedures, the Boston INS office will not be able to issue employment authorization and advance parole in one day.

Processing of employment authorization and advance parole may now take up to 30 days at the Boston INS office. We are awaiting further details from INS as to the exact changes in procedures. We will inform you as soon as our office receives any information from INS.

If there are any employees that require employment authorization or advance parole immediately, please have them contact our office to personally speak with an attorney regarding their situation.

It is true

A friend of mine got this same answer at the boston office when he went there to renew EAD.
God this could screw my vacation plans next month. i will be going to INS boston this wednesday.
I am wondering if INS boston will provide EAD AND AP within 30 days or could be more than that.
I guess we will only have to wait and see.
Any one who has applied for EAD and AP at the boston office and has been sent back, please respond with that they have to say and also keep this thread alive to monitor when approvals come through.

good luck every one.

Re: It is true

Fisa,

This is news to me.. I got my EAD renewed the same on 10/10/2002, I think you had some questions then..

Don't know what's the status at Boston, INS now.

thanks

not true?

My attorney said this was not true.
but then . . . who knows . . .
if this is true i'm toast . . .
but you know what . . . I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!
I've been screwed so many times before . . . i won't even notice one more time . . .

it is true

This is absolutely true.. I went to the INS office in Boston today to get my EAD renewed and for AP, and they said that they don't do it the same day anymore, I requested her that mine was an urgent situation and I need to fly immediately, but they didn't heed, and said that she was sorry, but those were the rules from now on

then what?

hoping_for_gc,

I am curious about then what they did with your application. Did they just let you leave the application there, and ask you to wait for approval in mail? Then how is that different from sending the application to VSC?
