WOW!! This is a rarity..Thanks for raising our hopes....

My case is not a rarity!

N400Applier:

FYI, I have a couple of other friends who have applied about a month after me and they have seen similar results (their interviews are scheduled about a month after mine).

Hope you haven't been waiting too long! Let me know if you have any questions.

That's a fabulous news for the new year! Sounds really good since I also live in Boston area. I'm thinking to submit my N400 soon. Some questions:
1) Where did you get your fingerprints done (Boston DO?), and did you get the chance to choose the time of the day, they just give you time?
2) Any tricky questions during the interview? I heard that Boston is one of the few cities which start to use new civic questions for naturalization.
3) How long does it take for your name-check?
Thanks!

co1hz:

1. The fingerprint machines are at the "Application Support Center" on Portland Street (a small office very close the JFK Federal Building, where you go for your EAD, InfoPass etc.). They give you a time slot. Even though my slot was in the afternoon, I showed up right after they opened and was accepted without any questions. Go early, since by 10:30 they were REALLY far behind.

2. No tricky questions. They did not offer the new test. The history/civics questions were very simple (of the "how many stripes" variety).

3. I don't know when the name check starts, so I can't tell you how long it took. The entire process took around 3 months.

A non-scientific poll among my friends shows that the timeframe is around 3 months from the day you mail your application. This is a major improvement over how things were during the summer of 2006.

Thank you my friend! Your net-name, 485_Forever, indicated the painful long wait in the dark for most of us. But I'm happy for you since it's all over, and you are a proud of American citizen now - well almost! What a great start for a new year!
