Bogus RFE for AP!!!

I was surprised to find that INS had issued RFE for my application for AP (no update for EAD application so far - though I can get EAD by going to local INS as it has been more than 90 days since RD but since I don\'t immediately need it, I\'m waiting if EAD comes in mail). However on contacting my lwayer regarding RFE for AP, I got the following reply:

"The RFE that was issued on your Advance Parole requested documents that
are not required to file the Advance Parole. They asked for copies of your
approved I-140, and birth evidence. In fact, we have seen several such
RFEs that have no foundation in law or regulations. Our office plans to
attend an INS liaison meeting in September, and will then bring this to the
attention of the INS."

Can other guys share experience if they have experienced or heard of similar !bogus! RFEs.

I read few posts days back about a similar EAD rfe...CSC had asked for copy of approved I-140 and BC copies or docs showing proof of birth..Note this was for EAD...I was also surprised at this...at that time I had asked everyone if ead/ap approved does it mean that allmy docs for 485 are ok...some replied each case ( ead,ap,485 ) are handled differently by diff officers...anyways noone knows how they work...but please dont consider them as "bogus" just cos your lawyer told so..I would suggest telling lawyers to send what docs are requested in ur rfe....sep is long time to go and its better to make use of this time cos INS takes time to acknpwledge receipt of rfe\'s related docs.
 
RFE for AP and EAD

I had the experience regrding AD and EAD . They request Approval Copy of I-140 . My ND 4/2/01 .I sent RFE for EAD on May 25,01 , got updated on July 10, 01 . Still waitng for approval . Regardng AP sent RFE on June 1,01 and is not updated yet . So, these days it takes 3-4 months to get approved for AP and EAD after you sent the RFE documents . On the other hand, I-485 did the FP on 7/27/01 ( as scheduled) . I hope is not going to be a long wait .

My lawyer has already sent the reply but I\'m trying to find if more applicants are getting such RFEs.
