I searched this board and found that that you had the same message as mine .. what is this all about?

After company merger, my new company filed an amended I140 in my favor. RD 05/13/02 ND 05/14/02.

The online status changed today. It says ...

Application Type: I140, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER

Current Status:

On November 20, 2002, we mailed you a notice that we certified our approval of this case and sent it to the appellate body for review. The notice explains in detail the basis for this proposed action. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business hours.

Is it approved? What does "sent it to th appellate body for review" mean?

Don't worry

I had the same online status. but received the approval notice in mail. Online status changed to approved once I got my Passport stamped. I wish it is same with your case.
 
Thanks, 1025_485 for ur reply. Yes, I did read ur thread when u got a similar message. Glad that all turned out OK for you.

I spoke to my lawyer, a very reputable firm in PA and it is the first time that they have seen such a message :confused: What confuses them is that if it says "certified our approval" then where is the need for the "review by appellate body"?
They will get back to me when they receive the notice.
Will update once I hear from the lawyers.

Congratulations..

Even I filed I-140 Amendment for company name change but tax-Id remains same.

1. Can you tell me what type of merge your company had(Is it name change and tax_id same or both name and tax-Id changed)?

2. Do you know what documents submitted for filing I-140 Amendment? In my case only letter from company on company letter pad , INS Fee and I-140 Approval notice(i.e approval copy with old company name).

I am eagerly waiting for your response..

Guys anybody had this experience?
can you please answers to above questions...??

1. Name change and tax id change. Paycheck is in new company name.

2. After the new 140 approval, I did ask our company attorney about this. They submitted same docs (edu qual, exp certs, LC copy etc that were submitted earlier) in addition to a copy of the old 140 approval notice, company letter, merger docs etc.

I do not know if one has to submit all the above. Somewhere I had read that only a copy of the earlier 140 approval notice along with current new company details are sufficient. I do not recall where I got that info from. Maybe other guys can help you out.

In fact over a dozen such cases affected by the merger have been approved.
What does ur lawyer say? Hope u get approved soon.
