My birthdate per passport and school certificate is different from the one listed in birth certificate. Unfortunately, I do not have any one in my hometown to follow-up for me and I am struck at US. I enquired through some friends and was told that the legal process of getting it corrected is the only way and that it would take about an year. Are there any alternatives available? How long would the process take?
