I have an interview coming soon in end of June. I don't have any birth certificate except my birth date on my Indian passport. I went to Indian embassy in nY took a certificate (so called birth certificate). Is this document good enough to show in the interview.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

If I were to take a guess, I would say that the document you got from the Indian Embassy would not be enough at the interview. The might ask you to get the original birth certificate from the city where you were born. But then again, you never know. Good luck!

Is there any way you could get your BC mailed from India? Oh I remember reading about a site for India where you can order most things, including a BC...I wish I remembered the thread name or something. Does someone know what I'm talking about?

Try getting affidavits along with the Non Availability Birth certificate from concerned authorities.

so the document from embassy and my birth date on my passport are no good ???

Typicall, passports take the DOB from the birth certificate.
The embassy issues birth documents based on the DOB on your passport.

SO, if you dont have a birth certificate to begin with, the above two are questionable evidence of your date of birth.

I also got an affidivant from my parents and i am also taking my 10th grade certificate in which they mention by date of birth. I hope it works
