Dear Friends

My interview under F4 category is due any day. I am from India

My husband does not have a birth Certicifate - just class 10 certificate which he has always used as proof of Birth date.

Will this be sufficient when we go for the interview?

Thanks

He is lucky if he did not get an RFE asking for birth certificate or affidavits. He may need to get ready with affidavits from parents/relatives to prove date of birth, names of parents, place of birth. Additionally, a Non-Availability certificate from concerned authority (municipality or registrar of births and deaths) is required. He may or may not be asked for this, but its a good idea to be prepared just in case the officer realizes during the interview that the birth certificate is not present in the case file and asks to see the originals.

Thanks

We are getting a 'Non-availibility ' cert from the Muncipal authorities. And have got an affadivit from an Aunt who was present at the time of his birth.
So with these two things, I suppose, it should be sufficient?

Thanks for the reply

Getting the Non-availibility cert from the Muncipal authorities and an affidavit from an Aunt is correct. But I think 2 affidavits are required(do check this information again). So you can get one from his parents/Grandparents/any realtive.

Even if the second affidavit is not required there is no harm in having it just in case.

Thanks.

In case of unavailability of birth certificate, 2 affidavits are needed from relatives/parents. Its good you have the NABC, that would help a lot.

Hello everybody

Thanks for all this input.
Can my husbad get an Affidavit from relatives we are like - cousins of his mother or father. Problem being that there is only one aunt directly related who is alive.

The affidavit can be got from anyone - family, relative or family friends - as long as that person is older to your husband, because the person who is giving the affidavit should be aware of your husband's birth. The safe bet would be from relatives.

Thanks.
