I understand that there is Birth Certificate required for Counslar Processing
What if we don't have one...
I checked on website of Indian Consulate - They issue birth certificate
by seeing date of birth on your passport..
Is that Birth Certificate is acceptable at US consulated in MUMBAI for CP interview?
Please let me know .....

I have also read about some problems with the BC issued by the Consulates.
The best option would be to obtain a Non Availability Certificate from the concerned authorities at your place of birth AND take 1 or 2 Birth Affidavits from your Parents or elder relatives .

Search the forum for details and templates for these documents.
There is a thread that I opened which shows samples for both these documents.
