Birth Certificate Puzzle

Hi All,

I'm going to file I-140 and I-485 very soon for me and my wife. I have a few questions about Birth certificates.

I have a non-availability certificate and 2 affidavits, one from my father and one from my uncle.

My wife has a BC but there is no name in it. The MC in India issued another Certificate saying that she is the daughter of <father's name> but the name can not be entered in the records after 15 years of birth.

Adding to the confusion is another thing:
My wife's father name does not have a middle name in her passport while it is there in the Marriage certificate. We got it corrected to without middle name in the above mentioned Birth certificates. Also does it matter if the father's name has a "Shri" in some documents and not in others?

Offf.. what a confusion....

Any body can help ???

hi gogia,
i kept these birth certificates aside and sent birth affidavits for self and my wife, well uscis asked for the nonavailability certificate in my wife's case and asked for another set of affidavits from my elders who were majors at the time of my birth (initially i sent one from my mom and another from my elder brother who was ten yrs old at the time of my birth). i took the nonavailability certificate from t he indian embassy in newyork and furnished it along with the re made affidavits. it worked and my case was approved. so i say go with the affidavits and see what you get as an rfe ( as i feel rfe seems to be a common practice for all the cases unlike before), at the most they may ask for a nonavailabilty certificate and it can be easily obtained from the indian embassy,in my opinion an easy rfe can always be better than an unanswerable one. rfe for date of birth issues in case of indians should not be a problem with the help of embassy letter and affidavits etc. this is my experience in this regard.
