Hi,
I am preparing to apply for I485 once the visa numbers become available but I don't have my birth certificate (as my birth was not registered) I am planning to get 2 affidivates from my relatives who are currently staying in USA.My question is,

Do I need to get the affidavate on the stamp papers issued by the Govt. of India and get it notarised here or since they are here in USA can I get the affidavate typed on a plain paper and get it notarised?

Please reply and thanks in advance.

Plain paper is fine. You may also need a 'non-availability' certificate from India in addition to affidavits.
Good luck,
