Birth certificate - Japanese

Any Japanese citizens applied for GC? I have a question about birth certificate.

I read that there is no such thing as 'birth certificate' in Japan. The only things that are close to it is 'family registry' which shows birth date, informationa about family members and 'regidence registry' which also shows birthdate and address. Which should one submit to prove the birthdate?

BTW, If you are married to a Japanese person, your name would not be added to the original family registry as husband/wife. It looks like Japanese goverment still do not let the foregners naturalize like in some other countries...
