My birth certificate doesn't contain my fathers' name. It has only my mothers' name. I need to submit the Birth Certificate for I-485 stage. Will this pose some issues. If so, do I need any extra documents to provide as proof.
My I-140 is pending approval. I read that I can file my I-485 also. But the question here is will the INS/BCIS start the processing of I-485 before the I-140 approval.
Pl. clarify my doubts.
Thanks,

you can submit a notorized affidavit that says so & so is your father - best to check with a lawyer.

i would seem to me that with the certificate as is, you are good to go. (cert should have your name, your mothers name )

I have my wife's birth certificate recently taken. It has my family name instead of her family name(In her passport she has my family name). And it has correct parents name on that.Does this
pose a problem in I-485.Please give your inputs.

Can an OPD discharge clip(mentioning the name of only my mother after my birth) and an affidavit(mentioning the names of my parents and the date and place of birth) be accepted as proof for my birth certificate.
I also came to know of a 2nd option where you could get the birth certificate from a municipal corp. Can the birth certificate be issued by any municipal corp. in india or does it have to be specifically from the place where i was born.
Pl. clarify my doubts.
Thanks.
