Hi

With I-485 it says that copy of Birth Certificate must be attached as supporting document. I lost mine... However the details are mentioned in the passport about place/ date of birth.

Is this enough ? Or I will need to request someone from my country to get a duplicate BC.

Please advise

Thanks
Abdul

No, the passport is not enough!
You need to request a duplicate if you can, and send the copy of it. In case it is impossible to get the duplicate then you would need two affidavits from relatives and a non-availability certificate (you can read about it in the instructions of I-485).

The I-485 form says - "Other record of your birth that meets the provisions of secondary evidence found in Title 8, code of Federal Regulations (CFR), 103.2 (b) (2)"

Does any one know what are the provisions of secondary evidence ?

You're right. I saw those instructions on I-130, not on I-485. It is under "What if a document is not available?".
