Birth Cert. and Passport. :-(

I have a birth certificate with a date of birth on it which is different from the dates on all my other records (all other recs. hv a different date). For filing I-485 my lawyer says we will provide the BC and you go and get the date on your passport alone changed to the one that is found on the Birth Cert.

What is the procedure for changing the DOB on the passport.

I have called Indian Embassy a hundred times and everytime it says "transferring to attendant" and it goes to some person's voice mail box which is already full and I am not even able to leave a message.

I am really frustrated. Can someone help ?

I would guess changing the DOB on passport is much difficult/complicated. and changing the DOB on birth Certificate or getting a new Birth Certificate,or getting Affidavits wud be much simpler.
Just a naive opinion....
