Birth and Marriage Cert of parents for filing for GC

Hi,
I am a US citizen planning to apply for the permanent residecy here soon.
There Birth and Marriage certificates are not in the government records.
How do I work around this or get the certificate. My parents are in India.

You can have at least 2 people prepare, sign and have notarized affidavit stating the facts. Date of Birth, place of birth, their relationship to you (family or friend of family). This is acceptable in case of not being able to get birth certificate. Do you have any school records, baptism records, etc.?
