Biometrics Questions

Hi,

I wanted to get some info on what happens at the Biometrics interview and how long it should take?

I live in IL and am on H1B and married to US citizen. Does my husband have to attend also? Do we bring anything apart from appointment letter and passport?

Does any one know the time line for IL? How can i find this out? We submitted mid July 2007.

Thanks so much!

You will go in, with your appointment notice and passport. 15 minutes before the time, an officer will welcome you in (your wife can come in only if needed (your interpreter or something)).

He will give you a form to fill out (as if we hadn't had enough) and then ask you to wait until your name is called.

Then you go to another room where they take fingerprints and picture. That is all, no interview questions.

Hi Att75,
i live in Illinois too and filed my AOS papers july 5th.
i had my biometrics done today at the USCIS Hammond center.
it was very simple and straight forword. i got there 15 minutes late but there were very few people there so it was no biggie. they gave me a form to fill after which i was called and my fingers were scaned and my photo taken. evertything took about 15 minutes total. it was all very simple and no questions are asked.
if you are a woman and have not changed your name yet you would need to take your marriage certificate with you.
goodluck.
