biometrics for ead/ap renewal??

I just got the receipt notices for ead/ap renewal forms recently submitted.
INS has asked me to take a biometrics appt. at the ASC.
couple questions:
*. I hadn't gotten any biometrics done for my original ead/ap application
submitted with my I485. So, is this new?
*. I'm planning on moving end of this month. Do you think I can get an
appointment at my local ASCs(Boston/Manchester,NH) by then?
