Biometrics Fees one time only?

i recently renewed my green card and paid the $70 biometrics fee. they fingerprinted me and everything. do i have to pay again for the n-400 biometrics fee?
 
I was in a similar situation this spring and asked them. They said that they do not have the capability to share the biometrics that are collected for the I-90 with the N-400 "side", but that they were planning on setting this up eventually. It's my thinking that "eventually" will be a long time off, so I am pretty sure you do have to pay again and also go through the process again.
